DG'S DAILY BLOG
Daily thoughts straight from the horse's mouth!
June is always a massive month for Flat racing. It is undoubtedly the biggest month of the year for Flat racing with Royal Ascot and the Epsom Derby both huge highlights for all racing fans. It is non stop from start to finish and much like May it is a month we look forward to tremendously.
Overall the month has been profitable, we've had the odd year where things haven't gone to plan but we took home profit hauls of +35pts and +29pts in 2015 and 2016 respectively while last year we brought in +5.5pts.
The month starts with a bang as the Epsom Derby takes centre stage. This classic is perhaps the biggest classic of the season and it is always a huge event. Epsom hosts one card on the Friday (Oaks Day) and one card on the Saturday (Derby Day). There is great racing on both days and the race I actually look forward to most is the Epsom Dash. A competitive handicap over the fastest 5f's in the country. Doncaster and Musselburgh also pitch in with competitive cards to make it a weekend worth savouring.
The following week sees Newbury, York, Sandown and Chester all host cracking cards, the three major highlight races coming in the form of The Abingdon Stakes (Newbury), The Scurry Stakes (Sandown) and The Grand Cup (York). This week is always a little quiet as the racing world warms up for Royal Ascot.
Royal Ascot starts on Tuesday 15th, running for 5 days and finishing as a result on Saturday 19th. Flat racing doesn't get any better than this and each day is as memorable as the next. As always we will be targeting a big festival and hopefully the weather plays ball.
The month finishes with another solid week of racing, Newmarket, Doncaster and Chester all hosting two day meetings. The highlight however comes from Newcastle as on Saturday 26th Newcastle hosts it's annual Northumberland Plate Handicap. This is always a big day of racing with loads of value on offer and one we will target heavily once again.
That Sunday the Curragh hosts Irish Derby Day while the last 3 days of the month are fairly quiet with very little worth noting.

Our first target will be +15pts, we had a great May and we come into this month in great form. June can be tricky, everybody knows it however I am confident we can get back towards those 2015 and 2016 profit hauls this year.
